Thyroglossal duct cyst with inherited factor V deficiency：report of one case

Abstract

Abstract: Thyroglossal duct cyst is a common deformity of the neck, usually occurring in children between 1 and 10 years of age, and also seen in adults. It is mainly caused by the disorder of thyroid hypothyroidism during the fetal period. It can be located at any sites along its descending route. Surgical treatment is the main treatment for this disease. Coagulotting factor V(FV) deficiency is a rare hemorrhagic disorder, and can be divided into inherited and acquired FV deficiency(AFVD). Here, we reported a 45-year-old female patient with a neck mass who was diagnosed with FVD by chance. After surgical resection of the neck mass, the specimens were sent for frozen paraffin pathology and diagnosed as thyroglossal duct cyst.The patient received fresh frozen plasma (FFP) infusion before and after operation,the operation went smoothly and the postoperative recovery was satisfactory.
