Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor of parotid gland: a case report and literature review

Abstract

Abstract: Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor(IMT) is a rare mesenchymal tumor composed of a large number of spindle cells with infiltration of inflammatory cells such as lymphocytes and plasma cells. This paper reported a case of IMT in parotid region, and reviewed the etiology, clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of IMT in combination with relevant literature, so as to improve the clinician's understanding of IMT in parotid region.
