The reverse Yu flap for upper lip reconstruction: report of one case, review of the literature

Abstract: Reconstruction of defects of the upper lip caused by cancer or trauma with its requirements of a complicated anatomical structure, important physiological function, and acceptable cosmetic result, is a challenge for oral and maxillofacial surgeons. The reverse Yu flap has been predominantly used for the reconstruction of medium-sized full-thickness upper lip defects. It is easy to raise with good aesthetic and functional results and minimal donor site morbidity. In this paper, we reported a case of using reverse Yu flap for upper lip reconstruction, and the relevant literatures were reviewed.
