Primary central intraosseous squamous cell carcinoma of the mandible: A case report and literature review

Abstract

Abstract: Primary intraosseous squamous cell carcinoma is a rare malignant central jaw tumor derived from odontogenic epithelial remnants. This paper reported a case with intraosseous squamous cell carcinoma affecting the right mandible. The patient presented with persistent unhealing right mandibular tooth extraction wound, accompanied by granulation tissue formation and local pain, which did not affect the function of eating and speech. Right free vascularized fibula musculocutaneous flap was used for repair of the defects after surgical resection, and postoperative pathology confirmed squamous cell carcinoma.
